Many changes have occurred in the last few years involving KSKJ Life Athletics. “Athletic News” is designed to provide you with tidbits of information to increase your overall awareness in this area. |
| Athletic Forms | The Athletic Rules and Compensation Schedule document has been revised and went into effect on May 1, 2010. Below is quick snapshot of the changes made to the document. To review or print out the document in its entirety, please visit the KSKJ website. - Change Section 1.B (of the Athletic Rules and Compensation document) to read that new members wanting to participate in KSKJ tournaments must have a policy issued at least one week prior to participation. The past ruling stated one month. By changing the date, it allows teams to add a few more new members in order to complete a team for the tournament.
- Change Section 2.B to read that Bowling Leagues are entitled to $10.00 for each KSKJ member participating. This change makes the allotment consistent with the allotment in section 9.
- Change Section 4.D to read that Basketball players may play on more than one basketball team (in two different divisions). However, the tournament host would not be responsible for accommodating the player’s team schedule. The player would have to choose what team and what game they can play for. The player would still need to meet the division’s age limit requirement. In addition, jacket allowance is limited to one jacket per person per tournament.
- Change Section 8.A. to read that a uniform allowance of up to $25.00 per person or $400.00 for the team will be paid to a local lodge sponsoring a KSKJ sports team in an organized league for a full season. The team must consist of all KSKJ members and uniforms must bear “KSKJ” as backer. A receipt or invoice for the uniforms must accompany the reimbursement request. (Bowling does not apply, see section 2.A.). The past ruling stated that the allotment was for entry fee.
- Change Section 8.B. - GOLF to read that any KSKJ member scoring a “Hole-in-One” in a KSKJ sponsored event will be awarded a KSKJ jacket, valued up to $100.00, and their name recognized on a plaque at the Home Office. Limit of one jacket award per 5 years. This ruling changes the basis for the award.
