Campaign to Benefit Feeding America Recap
In the United States, 1 in 9 people struggle with hunger – that’s over 37 million people today — including more than 11 million children and nearly 5.4 million seniors. Hunger knows no boundaries. It touches every community in the U.S., including your own. During these difficult times, families struggling with food insecurity are relying on food banks more than ever to help put food on the table. Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks committed to serving people in need, estimates the coronavirus crisis could mean a 46% increase at risk of hunger. That’s 17.1 million more people!
As a fraternal benefit society, KSKJ Life has been offering community outreach and charitable support for members and their communities since 1894. We want to ensure that every person and child can access the food they need by supporting our local food banks. That’s why KSKJ Life started the Uniting to Fight Hunger Campaign to benefit Feeding America and the 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries they support across the country and in the communities where our members live.
And KSKJ Life members really showed up for their communities this spring! In just 6 weeks, $7,450 was raised by supporters, including donations from volunteers, agents and staff. KSKJ Life contributed a match of $5,000, bringing the total donation for Feeding America to $12,450!
For every dollar donated, Feeding America is able to provide up to 10 meals for those in need, resulting in more than 124,000 meals for our neighbors across the country.
Thank You So Much For Donating!
