2017 National Golf Tournament
Due to a scheduling conflict, the 2017 KSKJ Life Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, June 25, (rather than Saturday, June 24) with the two Waukegan lodges serving as your host. The one-day tournament will again be played at the Bonnie Brook Golf Course in Waukegan, IL. The format will be a four-person scramble, and golfers of all levels are invited to join in the fun. More information to come!

Waukegan Lodges Host Basketball Competition
Fans of College Basketball know that every March, all eyes turn to the NCAA National Tournament. For over 80 years, KSKJ basketball enthusiasts would turn their eyes to their own basketball tournament each February.
Well, the KSKJ Life National Basketball Tournament as we knew it, came to an end in 2015. But the tradition of February basketball still lives on in Waukegan, thanks to St. Joseph #53 and St. Mary #79, that now host the tournament as a lodge sponsored, one day event.
This year’s round robin tournament was held on February 18th at the Waukegan Field House. By having it as a lodge event, non-members were welcomed to play as well. It may not have been the NCAA, but some very competitive games were played just the same. In the end, the family team of Steve Drinka, Alex Pasiewicz, Anthony, Danny, Drew, Matt, and Zack Rygiel and friends, captured first place honors.
I would like to thank all of the Waukegan members who pitched in and made this a fun, friendly, yet competitive, day. A special thanks to Mike Brown, Lance Johnson, and Jay Lerner for pulling this all together. Thanks to Matt Starasinich from Joliet, for coming down to play with us.
While many of us miss the old tournaments and the old friends that we would reunite with each year, we know that times change. For now, we still have basketball in February, and new memories to make.

Stepping Up With KSKJ Life
About The Program
In 2012, we introduced the Stepping Up walking program. The program was designed to encourage members to be more physically active while raising awareness of benefits of physical activity.
Our 2016 Stepping Up program kicked off September 1! Members could register at any time during the 45-day program beginning September 1. The focus of this year’s program was committing to your overall health by getting active—whether that included a 20-minute walk with co-workers, an evening bike ride with family or even cutting the grass. Every active minute counted! Members who tracked their minutes by logging in via the website or who shared photos during the 45 day program were eligible to win a FitBit Flex. Congratulations to members Don Draus from New Lenox, IL and Katie Starasinich from Crest Hill, IL!
Collectively, members logged in 106,767 minutes of being active!! For every registration and submission, the Home Office committed to donating $1 per participation to the Diabetes Research Institute. For more details and to see photos of our members getting active, please click HERE. Congratulations to all of the participants in the 45-day program.
